Symposium on Feline Pain Open to All Attendees

March 20, 2024 | by The Jeuns

The EveryCat Health Foundation and the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Feline Health Center have joined forces to host a symposium titled, “Health Breakthroughs for EveryCat: Being PURRfectly Clear on Feline Pain,” at North Carolina State University in Raleigh on April 13-14. The event will bring together experts to discuss a range of topics related to feline pain, including arthritis, dental pain, and gastrointestinal issues.

One of the highlights of the symposium will be licensed veterinary technician Kara Burns’s discussion on treating cats with nutrition. She will also explore therapies such as the Assisi Loop, a targeted electromagnetic therapy that pet parents can easily administer at home.

The symposium will offer two separate tracks: one for veterinary professionals seeking continuing education credits and one for non-veterinary cat enthusiasts. Topics will cover pain related to arthritis, cancer, dentistry, urinary problems, and gastrointestinal issues. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream option will be available, and recordings of both tracks will be accessible to attendees after the event.

Notable speakers at the symposium include Duncan Lascelles, Margaret Gruen, Timothy Fan, Alex Lynch, Lenin A. Villamizar-Martinez, Wendy Simpson, Steve Dale, and Tammy Grubb. Participants can register for the event and learn more about the symposium on the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Feline Health Center’s website.
